Aun'o'T'olku'Ol'kak'Shas [ Shas'vre ] Joined: Wed Nov 07 2007, 03:53PM Posts: 261 | I read in the skimmer section of the 5th edition book that skimmers cannot normally land in battle conditions. It can only do so when it is immobilized or wrecked. Our skimmers have landing gear, however, so i assume that those rules still count? I could not find this in the errata, but i think it would be weird if we could not use our landing gear anymore.

| Yeah, I would definitely assume the landing gear take precedence.
For that matter, with the changes to defensive weapons, obscured targets and fast skimmers, It may well be more useful for us to just park our HHs with a good field of fire and land than try and move around the battlefield.

| That might be an interesting new tactic, mobile gun platforms, maybe moving once or twice in a game. good as cover against assaults and incoming fire (although not as good as with the priority testing we had before) and it can survive quite some time if parked the right way. Maybe even using two next to eachother to create a big blockade FoF style. Point is that they are quite expensive to keep immobile, but they are also to expensive to have them destroyed due to their mobility and the skimmer rules *sigh*
