There are two kinds of conduct the Ethereals will not countenance. The first is a failure to reflect upon what is for the Greater Good of the Tau race. The second is the deliberate refusal to follow the path of the Greater good when it is clear what it must be.
Anyone had any experience yet in fighting the new demon army?
I haven't but I have to think that an entire army that deepstrikes has got to play havoc with our forces. These guys seem to be even more focused on H2H than nids and much more able to get into combat with a foe.
So how should we deal with them? Once Upon a midnight dreary....
damn i made a huge post and lost it and can't be assed to copy.
Anyway leave broadsides at home go with rail heads.
Good amount of decent quanity/strength fire is needed here... with some ap3 for luck, railheada take care of soul grinders and also shoot those little rings of deepstriking daemons.
Quanity of fire rather than quality (with the exception of ap3) is better for large monsters as they can't be instant killed and get invunerables.
Good deployment is important so that you get at least one turn of shooting at the enemy if they deepstrike behind cover and hopefully you can nuke them if they deepstrike in the open. Transports for fire warriors and extra mobillity is also good but not required. Horrors can bea threat to fire warriors but otherwise bloodletters and damonettes remain your highest threats out of lesser daemons... pretty much all plague bearers do is survive (unless they have Epidemius)
Beware fast things such as fiends, winged things, flesh hounds and Screamers. Most daemons have problems with tanks except big things and tzeentch which can sometimes make these a priority.
FYI I have had over 15 games with and against daemons before the codex was released so I've got a bit of experiance my mech eldar made a total mess of them as I was to fast
It does seem like alot depends on how quickly the second half of his army deepstrikes in. Even if the first half gets good position, seems like they could have problems outnumbered 2 to one.
And with no oposition set up on board first turn, makes going second appealing. Once Upon a midnight dreary....

Its only an issue in regards to how much you kill otherwise I have found they come quick enough if your locked in combat. All depends on situation tho. I have had a unit of Guard beat up Flesh Hounds lead by Karnak in close combat XD
